I have been working with adolescents since early in my training, and it is an area of interest and expertise. In my role as the Clinical Director of a small, therapeutic school, I was able to witness many of the challenges that teenagers are currently grappling with. Loneliness, academic stress, identity concerns, depression and anxiety are common for many. I view therapy with adolescents as an important opportunity to reflect on identity, values, hopes and aspirations in a confidential setting. Parents can be an essential ally in work with teenagers, and I believe it is possible to provide a private space for adolescents to talk while also engaging with family members.

Areas of interest include:

Transition to college or work

Identity and sexuality

Academic stress/lack of motivation

Social challenges (dating, establishing friendships)
